At Lingfield Nursery, we strive to create a friendly and safe space where your child can flourish as an individual and develop their independence. We believe in cultivating a strong partnership with all our parents and carers. Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage, we know that children thrive through play, which is why our nursery is designed to support this learning approach. Your child will enjoy versatile play opportunities in both our indoor and outdoor settings.

At Lingfield, we believe that children learn best through play—both adult-led and child-led. Play isn’t just fun; it’s an essential part of their development! Through engaging activities, we can teach little ones all the skills they need while they’re having a great time. Explore our resources to see how you can support your child’s learning journey through the magic of play. Join us in making learning enjoyable!

At our setting, we believe that the environment plays a key role in Early Years education. We create spaces tailored for each age group, evolving from Nursery to the Reception classroom. Our environments are dynamic, adapting over time to align with our story focus, as well as the children’s interests and skills. We thoughtfully select resources that promote skill development in engaging and enjoyable ways. Whether inside or outdoors, we ensure that learning occurs in varied and exciting environments, making every day a new adventure for our children!

All of our practitioners are highly skilled in working with young children and have an excellent understanding of child development. By observing your little ones, they plan engaging experiences tailored to their needs, ensuring each child progresses. We keep track of their journeys in their Early Years Books, highlighting significant milestones along the way. Each adult plays a vital role in their care, helping them feel settled, happy, and safe. This dedicated individual supports your child’s development and learning, making sure they thrive in our nurturing environment.

At Lingfield Primary School, we follow the EYFS guidance to ensure that each child’s learning is thoughtfully planned. We focus on the Prime Areas, where children typically develop first, and then support their growth in the Specific Areas, as skills learned in the prime areas lay the foundation for success in those subjects. We’re here to nurture your child’s journey!

Prime areas:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language

Specific areas:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

At Lingfield Primary School, we’ve crafted our own Early Years Curriculum to cover all the essential areas of learning. From the moment your child joins us in nursery until they complete reception, we’ve outlined all the skills and knowledge they should develop. Our curriculum includes Observation Checkpoints that help us assess each child’s progress, ensuring no one gets left behind. This way, we can identify where extra support is needed. We’ve also made it flexible, allowing us to teach skills and knowledge in various engaging ways, making learning a fun experience for every child.

Nursery Hours

  • Morning Nursery – 8.30am -11.30am
  • Afternoon Nursery – 12.30pm – 3.30pm

30 hour places:

We also offer 30 hour spaces for children whose parents work 16 hours or more per week.

What is 30 hours free childcare?

If your child is 3 to 4 years old, you may be able to get 30 hours free childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year (during school term time).  This means, instead of accessing 15 hours of Nursery at Lingfield, your child can receive 30 hours of free Nursery provision within our school.

We would like to inform parents about our nursery provision. Funding is available for up to 30 hours per week; however, our school offers 32.5 hours of nursery placement. As a result, there will be an additional charge to cover the extended hours of the day. This extra payment is set at £3.50 per day and can be conveniently processed via Arbor, our payment platform. We encourage parents to familiarise themselves with these arrangements to ensure a seamless experience for both children and families. Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
