At Lingfield Primary School, we truly value the efforts parents make to ensure their children arrive on time and ready for the school day. It’s essential to understand that arriving late or having poor attendance can not only hinder a child’s individual learning experience but also disrupt the whole class’s dynamics. To help set everyone up for success, our doors open at 8:40 every morning, where a member of staff is there to greet every child. We kindly encourage children to head straight inside as soon as they arrive, where they are warmly welcomed by the classroom staff. By working together, we can create an environment where every child enjoys the best possible start to their day and flourishes in their education. Timeliness and regular attendance are key ingredients for a positive school experience, and we greatly appreciate your support in helping us achieve this goal! Let’s make each day a great one for our young learners!

Lunchtimes & Playtimes

Children are encouraged to have a cooked meal at lunchtimes.  Lingfield Primary School has its own kitchen which is run by Middlesbrough Council, providing healthy midday meals. Facilities are also provided for children to bring healthy packed lunches.  We do ask that sweets, any product with nuts and fizzy drinks are not part of children’s packed lunches.  Staff support the children at lunchtime both in the dining hall and in the playground.

Children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 are entitled to a free school lunch which is government funded.

At morning break children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 are provided with a piece of fresh fruit or vegetable snack. Please could we ask that any grapes brought into school are cut in half to avoid an chocking hazards.

Each child is expected to bring a bottle of water to school each day which will be kept in the classroom and sent home each evening.

Children whose parents receive Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, or Child Tax Credit may be entitled to free school meals. Please contact the school office for the necessary forms and confidential advice.
